Working with the reports from Commission Junction
To correlate your link to the actual item that was sold on eBay, download a Commission Detail report from within the Commission Junction interface. To get there: -- Go to http://www.cj.com/. -- Log in. -- Click on the "Run Reports" tab. -- Click on the "Report Options" text link. -- In the "Run Reports" section, below "Select Report Type", in the first pull-down menu, choose "Commission Detail". -- Use the other pull-down menus to select the time frame, advertisers, and other criteria for your report. -- Then click on the "Generate Report" button at the top right. -- Go to the bottom right of the report. -- Use the "Select..." pull-down menu to select the format for your report. Options include CSV (Comma Separated Values), Tab, PIPE, Excel, and XML. -- Click on the "Submit" button. -- A dialogue box will appear that lets you place the report where you want it. When you open the report, you'll see a column labelled "Order_ID" (column 16 out of 18). This is used as a catch-all field, showing several pieces of information, and is sometimes referred to as "OID". The variables in this column are separated by semicolons, and are as follows (left to right): eBay User Id; eBay Item Id; Leaf Category Id; Click Date; Bid Date; and Record Id. You can use the eBay Item Id (the second element in the Order_ID) to find the actual item that was sold in conjunction with your link. You can find this on the eBay site or through the eBay API. |
