The Book Port

          I started this online bookstore because I love books. I keep them always around me, and can easily get lost in a bookstore for hours. Certainly some of you out there can relate. For me, much of it comes from my parents, both of whom are college English professors. Combining my lifelong fascination with books and my professional experience in computers and marketing just made sense -- a labor of love that really uses what I know.

          The name of this site is reminiscent of a place I spent many hours in as a child: the Kennebunk Book Port. It's a wonderful place, which I encourage you to visit, full of interesting books stashed in tucked-away nooks.

I Ching I bought two copies of this book, one for home and one for my office, then decided not to keep one in the office. So, this book is in excellent condition, barely opened. The only mark in or on it is my signature on the inside cover (which is hidden by the dust jacket). [If I'm going to sell books, I have to train myself to stop putting my name in them ...]

This is the classic Chinese text on changes. Some see it as a method of fortune telling. For some it is a cohesive model of a world view. I enjoy it for its emphasis on states and how they tend to change. This applies to situations, emotions, nations, anything with a disposition. This particular text is a classic rendition of the work, with layers of commentary and interpretation. I find it generates deep insights.
